rd <br />Mashpee Select Board <br />Minutes <br />October 2, 2023 <br />APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br />Recreation Director Mmy Bradbury; Discussion and Approval of the,FollowinLSleciai Events <br />(continued) <br />Luck of the Draw Pickleball Tournament to Benefit American Red Cross: The event is planned to be held at <br />the Mashpee Pickleball Park on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This is a fundraiser <br />for the American Red Cross. No specific services are required. <br />Motion made by Selectman Wyman -Colombo to approve the Special Event Application for the Luck of <br />the Draw Pickleball Tournament as presented. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Weeden. <br />VOTE: Unanimous 3-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes <br />Opposed, none <br />Public Comment: <br />Andrew McManus indicated he is no longer a resident of the Town of Mashpee, and would like to speak on <br />behalf of the Cape Cod Disc Golf Club. <br />Motion made by Selectman Weeden to allow Andrew McManus as President of the Cape Cod Disc Golf <br />Club to speak during Public Comment on behalf of the association. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Wyman -Colombo. <br />VOTE: Unanimous 3-0. <br />Roil Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes <br />Opposed, none <br />Mr. McManus gave a follow up to the series of events that led to the removal of the Disc Golf Club project <br />from the October Town Meeting warrant. Mr. McManus indicated the proposal was quite detailed and revised <br />to address the questions asked of the Select Board and Community Preservation Committee since the project <br />was first introduced for the May warrant. There were a lot of steps and work involved in this process. The <br />project was endorsed by the Community Preservation Committee and by a majority of members from the <br />Finance Committee. At the meeting where Mr. McManus was not present or felt he did not have to attend; the <br />article was removed by the Select Board from the warrant. Mr. McManus stated in his opinion there was a <br />need to finish the review process. <br />
