Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 21, 20 <br /> NEW BUSINESS. <br /> Annual and Special Town Meeting-Warrants forApproval: <br /> Updated Warrants for the Annual and Special Town Meeting of Monday, <br /> May 2, 2005 were distributed for review and comment. <br /> 1t was noted that the omnibus budget is revised under the line item: Town <br /> Clerk salary/wage to reflect the sung of$50,160. Last year's appropriation <br /> was $48,000. The Finance Committee was noted to be in agreement with <br /> the line item revision to support the salary increase. <br /> Finance Connnittee member Jerry Urnina stepped down for the in-depth <br /> discussion that ensued between the Board of Selectmen and Finance <br /> Committee regarding the request of the Police Chief to increase the hours <br /> of his administrative secretary to full-time status. It was noted that funds <br /> exist within the budget and an article is presently on the warrant for <br /> acceptance. The Finance Committee related concern with respect to the <br /> organizational structure of department and the employment of two <br /> lieutenants on the day shift that were to assume dmIm'strative <br /> responsibilities under the auspice of the former Chief of Police, <br /> The Finance Committee adjourned to re-discuss this matter. Upon return, <br /> the Finance Committee indicated that they were in support of the FY 6 <br /> budget as presented the newly appointed Police Chief, but voiced concern <br /> towards the present organizational structure of the department. <br /> i <br />
