5 <br />Select Board <br />Minutes <br />March 18, 2024 <br />APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br />Interviews Discussion and Possible wA. ointments of the Following <br />Conservation ,Commissionm Sarah ThornbMember at Lame,Termx , _Epires June 30. 2024:a <br />.._.. k <br />The Select Board interviewed Sarah Thornbrugh for possible appointment to the Conservation Commission; <br />full-time status as a Member at Large with a term to expire; June 30, 2024. Ms. Thornbrugh received strong <br />rankings from the Conservation Commission. Ms. Thornbrugh has significant and direct experience in the <br />disciplines of wetlands ecology and natural resources management. Ms. Thornbrugh has also worked with the <br />Environmental Justice movement, and holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and advanced <br />degrees in Sustainable Natural Resource Management and Informal Science Education. <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to appoint Sarah Thornbrugh as a full-time Conservation <br />Commissioner, Member at Large status with a term to expire; June 30, 2024. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Wyman -Colombo. <br />VOTE: 4-0. Unanimous. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />Conservation Commission: _,.Russ Wilcox, Associate Member., Term Exoires June 30 2024: <br />It was disclosed that Russ Wilcox withdrew his application for appointment on March 15, 2024. <br />Public Comment: <br />Wendy Williams, a resident of Simmons Narrow Road commented on the legacy of the community in standing <br />together for adversity. Ms. Williams noted that she is a candidate for the Select Board, and is concerned with <br />past actions of an elected official. In the future, it is hopeful that Mashpee will become more unified, <br />transparent and a stronger community. <br />
