2 Select Board Minutes March 11, 2024 APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS DPW Director Catherine Laurent:, Recommendations for Awardofthe Following Contracts: HVAQ Vhgrq&s at_the KC Coombs School: Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works was in attendance to recommend the Select Board award a contract to Performance Plumbing & Heating, Inc. of Medway, MA in the amount of $1,518,824 for HVAC upgrades to the Kenneth C. Coombs School. The quote includes fees for the required filed sub -bids. Ms. Laurent indicated that this firm was the lowest most responsible bidder for the project. The firm is DCAMM certified receiving a 93% evaluation rating for completed projects. With approval -it is anticipated that work would begin in late June after the school term with project completion in the fall. Motion made by Selectman Sherman to award a contract to Performance Plumbing & Heating, Inc. in the amount of $1,518,824 as recommended. Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. VOTE: 5-0. Unanimous. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none Owner's Project ManA r,.L „mServiceswfor Mashpee School HVAC Proiects: It is the recommendation of the DPW Director to award a Negotiated Contract Fee for the Owner's Project Manager (OPM) Services for Mashpee School HVAC projects. The fee shall not exceed $285,000. The reimbursement limit is up to $8,000 for use of an online bidding service, and the reimbursement limit of up to $20,000 is limited for an independent estimating firm to prepare a construction estimate. The Town will work on the selection of an engineer/designer, and in moving forward to construction at the two schools. Anser Advisory of Boston, MA is the recommended OPM. Payment would be made on a monthly basis based on actual hours worked for the project team members. The OPM is required by State statute. The proposed project teen is March 18, 2024 through December 31, 2025. It is likely the Town would receive rebates to offset costs. The scope of services does not include a Clerk of the Works. Motion made by Selectman Sherman to award a Negotiated Contract Fee for the Owner's Project Manager (OPM) Services to Anser Advisory for the (2) Mashpee School HVAC projects.
