10 <br />Select Board <br />Minutes <br />May 20, 2024 <br />APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br />Aquaculture Grant,A� ai?lication: Lisa and Joseph Bohnenber-, er <br />Chris Avis, Shellfish Constable respectfully requested the Select Board approve the Aquaculture Grant <br />Application of Lisa and Joseph Bohnenberger in Ockway Bay. The grant was approved in October 2018. Due to <br />Covid delays and health issues during the application process, the applicant was requested by the Army Corp of <br />Engineers to renew the application since is had expired. There are not changes from the original application. <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the Bohnenberger Aquaculture Grant Application in <br />Ockway Bay as presented. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Lynne Barbee, Surf Drive stated that she is hopeful that one day she would visit the proposed Wampanoag Village <br />along with her friends. The people of the Town of Mashpee voted overwhelmingly to support this project. The <br />Select Board was encouraged to move the project along. <br />Arden Russell, Sturgis Lane, Chair of the Community Preservation Committee commented publicly on the Office <br />of the Attorney General reconsideration of a perceived Open Meeting Law Violation dated May 6, 2024. The <br />compliant alleged the Committee deliberated outside of a properly posted meeting. After providing affidavits, the <br />Attorney General's Office has concluded the Committee did not violate the Open Meeting Law. Ms. Russell <br />indicated that all members of the CPC take the OML seriously, and hopefully the Town will have training for all <br />boards and committees. <br />David Weeden spoke as a member of the Wampanoag Tribe regarding an informative meeting on the research that <br />has been conducted on forever chemicals; PFAS. The presentation was well -attended and it was recommended the <br />Select Board invite representatives of the STEEP organization to share their presentation to promote awareness of <br />the PFAS in the environment. <br />
