7 <br />Select Board <br />Minutes <br />May 20, 2024 <br />APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br />Public Hearing New Annual Wine and Malt Beverages Alcohol LicenseStee ale Street Music Academy Inc. 40 <br />Steeple Street: Demetrius Becrelis, Mana er-Discussion and Approval of New Annual Wine and Malt Beverages <br />Alcohol. Licenses Stec le Street Music Academ ,.Inc. 40 Steeple Street: Demetrius Becrelis, Manager. <br />Acting as the Local Licensing Authority for the Town of Mashpee, the Select Board opened the Public Hearing on <br />the application of Steeple Street Music Academy, Inc. for a New Annual Wine and Malt Beverages Restaurant <br />License, 40 Steeple Street, Mashpee, Demetrius Becrelis, Manager. The premise is described as 3,000 square feet <br />on one floor, alcohol would be sold/served in an area consisting of 1,100 square feet, 13 rooms total. This includes <br />8 music studios, 1 classroom, 1 performance space, an office, kitchen and waiting room. <br />Demetrius Becrelis, Manager/Director was in attendance with Katherine Becrelis, Assistant Director to discuss the <br />license application with the Select Board. <br />Being no public comment, the Select Board motioned as follows; <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to close the Public Hearing. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />Discussion followed with respect to the Retail Lease Agreement with the landlord; Mashpee Commons, LLC dated <br />March 1, 2019. There are concerns regarding the language and the operation thereof which appear to be outdated. <br />After review of several discrepancies, The intent of the project was fully identified by the applicants who are in the <br />process of applying for non-profit status. The Becrelis indicated the bylaws have been updated. <br />To ensure accuracy of the use of space, and where the liquor is intended to be served, a schematic rendering to <br />scale was requested. It was disclosed the applicant is requesting to offer beer and wine only during appropriate <br />times. This is not a focus of the offerings at the Music Academy. Service of alcoholic beverages would be within <br />a separate, enclosed space. Performances generally start at 7:30 p.m. — 8:00 p.m. after lessons have ended. <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the New Annual Wine and Malt Beverages Restaurant <br />License, 40 Steeple Street, Mashpee, Demetrius Becrelis Manager. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Wyman -Colombo. <br />VOTE: 4-0-1.
