The restaurant month will feature restaurant tours, <br />and the Chamber will create a passport for people to use to get the specials and <br />discounts at participating restaurants. <br /> <br /> Shop local campaign: This year, the shop local campaign will also have a passport type <br />option. The Chamber is looking to extend the time and is planning on the shop local <br />campaign to run from November 1 through December 31. <br /> <br /> Holiday Parade: The holiday parade’s theme is Winter Wonderland. The town will have <br />a float because the DPW has a lot of younger workers on it with children and they would <br />like to participate. They also talked about the meal deliveries the Chamber does for <br />Thanksgiving and Christmas. <br /> <br />4. Mashpee Educate, Dream, Inspire, Create Contest: Next Step In Business <br />Carol talked about the contest and how the Chamber could help (provide free membership to <br />the Chamber as a prize, for example). Julie said the Chamber could contribute money towards <br />the marketing effort as well as offer a free membership. <br /> <br />The committee discussed potential judges for the contest, and the following people were <br />suggested: <br /> Kat Cedrone <br /> Patrice Pimental (as a moderator) <br /> John Cotton <br /> Bob Maffei <br /> Greg McElvey <br /> <br />Carol will present the rules (included at the bottom of these minutes) to Town Counsel. She will <br />invite Kat to the next meeting in October. <br /> <br />Treasurer’s Report: The EDIC has $20,987.64 in the checking account and $112,803.04 in the <br />money market account. The money market account made $380 in interest. <br /> <br />Revised Proposed Rules (Carol Sherman will have town counsel review these): <br />Mashpee Educate, Dream, Inspire, Create: Next Step In Business <br />1) All businesses must be based in Mashpee <br />2) Competition is open to businesses that have been in operation from 1 to 3 years <br />3) Entrant/owner must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry <br />4) The business must be currently active, lawful, and have all necessary and required <br />licenses and registrations <br />5) The entrant/owner must be an authorized agent of the registered business <br />6) The business must be in good standing with the Massachusetts Secretary of State as of <br />the date of entry and through the end of the contest <br />7) The business should not be a franchise or a direct seller business <br />8) The business must be in good financial standing—not be under bankruptcy protection or <br />have judicial liens or attachments <br /> <br />
