HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES <br /> FRIDAY, APRIL 15, 2022 <br /> PRESENT: Mary Bradbury, Christine Willander, Lynne Barbee, Gail Wilson Director <br /> CALL TO ORDER : 11:05 am, by Gail Wilson, Chair Protem <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT : none <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> • Review of Minutes from March 18, 2022 <br /> o motion to accept by Bradbury, second by Willander, unanimous <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> • Membership of Committee <br /> Gail contacted Assistant Town Manager Wayne Taylor regarding Human <br /> Services By-Laws. Since the Human Services Department is not in the Town Charter we don't <br /> need by-laws; instead we can function with Guidelines. <br /> Motion to change Human Services "By-Laws" to "Guidelines" by Willaner, <br /> second by Barbee. Select Board has to approve Guidelines. <br /> One vacancy on Committee of"At-Large Member" will be posted. <br /> • Director's Report <br /> Proposal was approved by the Town Manager for a Pilot Virtual <br /> Drop-In on the first Tuesday of the month from Noon to 1:00pm. <br /> Possible Partners are: Duffy Health Center;AIDS Support Group; <br /> PIER Recovery; Parents Supporting Parents; WellStrong; Adcare. <br /> The Barnstable County Regional Substance Use Coalition has possible <br /> grants for prevention. Previously the Director wrote a grant for the film <br /> "If They Had Known." due to COVID-19 hasn't been shown to students, the <br /> rental of the film has been extended to 11/30/2022. <br /> Calls regarding domestic violence referred to Independence House. Calls for <br /> veteran services (housing, legal) referred to Major Greg Quilty of Cape Cod Veterans Office who <br /> meets with veterans at the Senior Center on first and third Fridays from 1-4 pm.
