San MacDonald <br /> VISITORS: DonnaJean Lopez (One Shared Spirit), Kate Lena (Barnstable County) <br /> In the absence of the Clerk, Chair Barbee volunteered to take minutes <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT - none <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Review of Minutes from June 16, 2023 - postponed <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion/Opioid Abatement Funding <br /> Committee reviewed each application and voted on them individually. Summaries of each are <br /> attached. <br /> 1. One Shared Spirit- $20,000 - Carol move to approve, Christine second, unanimous <br /> 2. Duffy Health Center- $22,500 - Carol move to approve, Heidi second, unanimous with one <br /> abstention <br /> 3. Boys and Girls Club - discussion of the application and need for details, metrics. Carol motion for <br /> panel to get back to applicant with request for details, and reconsider at next meeting. Mary second, <br /> unanimous <br /> 4. Parents Supporting Parents - $20,000 - Carol move to approve, Christine second, unanimous with <br /> one abstention <br /> 5. AIDS Support Group - $15,000 - Carol move to approve, Heidi second, unanimous <br /> 6. Behavioral Health Innovators - $15,000 - Carol move to approve, Christine second, unanimous <br /> Human Services Contracts <br /> Discussion regarding Housing Assistance Corporation possible application for future contract. <br /> FY 2024 is already closed. <br /> Director's Report <br /> Mashpee Substance Use Task Force met. No overdoses reported since May, 8 since January with one <br /> death in April. Discussion of webinar on Xylazine (aka `tracks'), very deadly, test strips now available. More <br /> Mental Health support is needed. Naomi Frye from MWT has joined the MSUTF. <br /> St. Vincent DePaul food bank reports continuing food insecurity. <br /> ADDITIONAL TOPICS <br /> Discussion of possible guest speaker at next meeting - guest to be invited, Stacey Schakel, Mashpee <br /> School Nurse. <br /> NEXT MEETING SCHEDULE <br /> August 18, 11 am Zoom, <br /> ADJOURNMENT 12:10 pm <br />
