MINUTES November 9, 1989 4 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed the Conservation Commission has concurred with wet- <br /> lands delineation as shown on plans. <br /> Mr. Thulin presented certified mail receipts for all abutters affected <br /> by the variance request. <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to grant the sideline variance and wetlands variance <br /> as requested, Mr. Greelish seconded. <br /> 15. ) Christ The King flushing program _ for Board approval. - Mr. McQuaid <br /> informed the Board discussion took place with Mr. Ziobro regarding the <br /> flushing program at the Church. Areas to be flushed, length of flush- <br /> ing and weekly sampling were agreed upon, if two consecutive rounds <br /> were found to meet recommended levels the water system would be allowed <br /> to open. Mr. McQuaid stated the flushing program was submitted in writ- <br /> ing however dates were omitted. <br /> Mr. Greelish requested Mr. McQuaid to inform the engineer dates of flush- <br /> ing must be submitted in writing. <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to accept the flushing program as submitted with <br /> the stipulation dates and time of flushing are included with the water <br /> test, once two consecutive rounds are found to meet recommended levels <br /> of lead, as per State requirements, the water system will be allowed to <br /> serve the facility, Mr. Greelish seconded. <br /> APPOINTMENT: S. Joseph DiMaggio & Volunteers - Recycling Committee <br /> Mr. Jerry Monaghan and Mr. Albert Polsi were in attendance for this <br /> scneduled discussion, as well as, Mr. DiMaggio. <br /> Mr. Greelish relayed to volunteers present that once the program is <br /> up and running the committee will be self-supportive however this Board <br /> will offer their help in any problems that may arise. <br /> Mr. Greelish explained the recycling program could generate a large <br /> amount of savings to the town. There is a proposal that the Board of Health <br /> would subsidize any recycling expenses that this organization incurred and <br /> this Board would continue to handle the hazardous waste which couldn't be <br /> handled thru an independent body. <br /> Mr. Monaghan questioned the Board as to what their responsibilities <br /> would be. <br /> Mr. Greelish responded, directing people to the appropriate bins and <br /> instructing them of correct procedures required prior to disposal . <br /> Mr. Greelish informed Mr. DiMaggio that payment for monitoring of <br /> recyclables will be on a monthly basis. <br /> Mr. DiMaggio informed the Board he has been approached by a gentlemen <br /> who has offered .30 per battery. <br /> Being no further business Mr. Doherty motioned to adjourn this meeting at <br /> 8:50 p.m. , Mr. Greelish seconded. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Veronica Warden, Principal Clerk <br />
