residents in the area spoke in opposition to the new site. <br /> <br />The proposed Town budget going to Town Meeting includes $30,000 for <br />shellfish propagation (from shellfish permit fees). The increase from last year’s <br />budget would be used to fund the purchase of additional 2 million quahog seed <br />this summer for Shellfish Growing Area SC-16 to increase fisheries and reduce <br />eutrophication. <br /> <br />Design work is underway for the CCWRRP projects to control road runoff <br />at Mashpee Neck Landing, and renovate the Santuit Pond dam and fish ladder. <br /> <br />Maintenance dredging of the 1916 channel in Popponesset Bay (going <br />northward from the mouth of the bay) has been completed. Apparently, that <br />channel has not been dredged since the 1930s. Increased water flow north to <br />the Mashpee River and Shoestring Bay might help improve water quality. <br /> <br />Old Business: <br /> <br />Falmouth/Mashpee Town Line in Waquoit Bay – The map/photo of the <br />Falmouth/Mashpee Town line in Waquoit Bay prepared by Tom Mayo (GIS Dept) <br />with latitude and longitude coordinates at the corners and jetty intersection was <br />distributed. The question of how to verify the location of the line was discussed. <br /> <br />Sponge Fouling in Little River – The sponges growing on the sand flat at <br />the north end of Little River are a problem because they are preventing shellfish <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
