MINUTES March 11, 1993 4 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> iF <br /> Wampanoag V.O.C. testing <br /> Mr. Evans relayed, "The Wampanoag Health Advisory com- <br /> mittee is unable to recruit enough volunteers. <br /> Mr. McQuaid commented, "Stetson Hall is requesting this <br /> Board's opinion as to whether it would be politically fea- <br /> sible to offer the natives a v.o.c. test on their private <br /> wells at either a reduced rate or no charge at all. " "Should <br /> the Board agree to the reduced rate he is requesting the town <br /> fund the cost differential for the reduced rate. " <br /> Mr. Evans relayed 238 questionnaires will be distrib- <br /> uted. <br /> Mr. Doherty commented, "It is not politically correct to <br /> offer a reduced rate to one segment of the population and not <br /> the other. " "This Board is not concerned with just one seg- <br /> ment of the population. " <br /> j Board members agreed to continue this discussion until <br /> next week's meeting. <br /> Meeting with Stetson Hall re: A.S.T.D.R. study in the <br /> Briarwood area <br /> i <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated, "A meeting has been scheduled with <br /> j representatives from D.E.P. , the Water District, a member of <br /> this Board, the Executive Secretary and the President of the <br /> Briarwood Association for March 15, 1993 @ 2:00 p.m. at this <br /> office. <br /> Acknowledged. <br /> j Recycling Area Access <br /> Mr. Doherty relayed, "If we have a large influx of <br /> residents utilizing the recycling area without landfill <br /> stickers it will cause a problem.
