MINUTES August 31, 2000 5 BOARD OF HEALTH
5. Board members agreed to find out whether the waste oil heater required
DEP approval. Mr. Santos felt that the heater was a good idea. Mr.
Doherty would like this item brought to the attention of Weston &
Sampson for their opinion and also the Fire Department.
These items were continued until further information is received.
b. Nini et Canonchet Avenue
Mr. McQuaid stated that there is already an existing home on one of the lots on
Ninigret and Canonchet and all three lots are in the Zone II area. The family
would like to incorporate the lot across the street so he can build a three-
bedroom home. The combined square footage of the three lots is 20,712 square
feet.
Ms. Warden reminded Board members that even if they approved the plan, it
would require DEP concurrence.
Mr. McQuaid stated, "If one of the Health Agents went out there and verified
that there are three bedrooms in the existing old house, he could tear the old
house down, build another three bedroom house, three times that size as long
as he didn't increase the number of bedrooms and as long as he upgrades the
septic system."
Board members agreed that the state and local regulations would only allow
one house to be on these three lots. There would be no possibility of having two
homes on these three lots due to the square footage and the fact that they are
within a Zone II area.
Mr. Doherty directed the Health Agent send a letter to the applicant explaining
the Title V restrictions and letting them know that one three-bedroom dwelling
would be all that would be permitted on the combined three lots.
C. Canal Auto Body Comments if completed)
The Health Agent's comments on this project were not available at this time.
d. The Comfort Man
The Comfort Man submitted a request to dispose of old air conditioning systems
at the Mashpee Transfer Station.
Mr. Doherty stated, "The Town cannot extend this courtesy to businesses since
taxpayer money is used to dispose of this material it can only be extended to
resident taxpayers, not commercial entities."
Being no further business, Mr. Ball motioned to adjourn this meeting at 8:48 p.m., Mr.
Doherty seconded, all agreed.
e pectf y submitt
L cy B. urton, Administrative Secretary
