MINUTES November 2, 2000 4 BOARD OF HEALTH
car outside the house and running lines to the house in order to live in the
vehicle.
Board acknowledged.
OLD BUSINESS
a. 55 Wood Road
Ms. Warden indicated that last meeting a variance was requested by Cape &
Islands Engineering for 55 Wood Road. George Heufelder from Barnstable
County Department of Health and the Environment reviewed the plans and
indicated that alternative technology systems other than any sand-filtration
systems have not been approved for general use. Bioclere's and FAST's are not
approved for general use. Because of the size of the lot and the proposed
number of bedrooms, this plan has to go to the State for approval. At the
previous Board meeting, Board members voted to send this request to the State
first and then the local Board of Health. The engineers then researched Title V
and let Ms. Warden know that it has to have local authority to then go to the
State.
Mr. Doherty indicated that he has no problem granting the variance and that he
is in favor of these systems. He further indicated that the Board believes the
objective being pursued may not be obtainable through the use of this system.
Mr. Santos motioned to approve the installation of a FAST system at 55 Wood
Road for provisional use based on the fact that the house is serviced by a
private well and the lot doesn't have enough square footage for the requested
number of bedrooms; motion is made pending DEP concurrence. Mr. Doherty
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
DISCUSSION
a. Tattoo regulation
Discussion took place regarding the need for a tattoo regulation. Board
members agreed to have Mr. McQuaid work on creating such a regulation.
Being no further business, Mr. Santos motioned to adjourn this meeting at 8:13 p.m.
Mr. Doherty seconded, all agreed.
;Res
e. ctfull y submittpo,
L B. l("urton, Administrative Secretary
