WITC SHELLFISH GRANT HEARING PAGE 5 5/18/77 D. McCLOUD: Is there any building involved? Isn't it an industry. R. COURTEMANCHE: It could be considered an industry, a shellfishing industry. I'm not familiar with what She aqua farmer will be doing. V. POCKNETT: I may fool with a couple of traps, but primarily plant and replace. D. McCLOUD: Will the .land be altered in any way? J. V. POCKNETT: No. CHMN. O'CONNELL: The application does .not intrude over land, as such. It's all within the confines of a water area. There could be no structures. i E. Have to chain drag it to get the grass out. FLOOR: Explains an incident about people digging up her yard, leaving a mess, when they trespassed over her land to go shell- fishing. COURTEMANCHE: The grant is under the control of the Town. Number and kind of bushels of seed planted each year, number produced, number marketed, estimated number of bushels growing or grown in total bushels. There are certain proceedings that do t occur that the grantee has to abide by. There are certain regula- tions, one being, they have to report the amount of shellfish put in and taken out on an annual basis. E. SIMPSON: Who provides the funds for the grant. j irl V.
