<br /> I move the Town vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire
<br /> by purchase for conser,,ration purposes all, or a major portion of
<br /> a parcel of land of approximately 250. 41 acres, generally described
<br /> as an the east side of the Mashoee River ,betwen Route 28 and the
<br /> Pirate ' s Cove subdivision and bounded on the east side by Simon ' s
<br /> Narrows and Mashpee Neck Road, more specifically described by a
<br /> Plan of Land in Mashpee, Mass . , sur%reyed for Pemberton Whitcomb,
<br /> scale I" = 100 ' " dated November 3 , 1973 and revised May 19, 1975 ,
<br /> and recorded at the Barnstable County Registry of Deeds in Plan
<br /> Book 295 , Pages 36 , 37, 38, and 39 , a copy of which is cn file in
<br /> the 'Town Clerk' s Office, the said land to be held in the care and
<br /> custody of the Conservation Commission, pursuant to Massachusetts
<br /> General Laws Chapter 40 , Section 8C, that the sum of $3 , 550, 000
<br /> is hereby appropriated for such purpose, including expenses inci-
<br /> dental and related thereto, and to raise such appropriation, the
<br /> Treasurer with the approval of 7_.'-ie Selectmen is hereby authorized
<br /> to borrow the sum of $3 , -"51) , 000 under and pursuant to Chapter 44 ,
<br /> Section 7 ( 3) , and, if applicable, Section SC, of the Seneral Laws,
<br /> or any other enabling author� -y, and to issue bonds or notes of the
<br /> Town therefor; that the sum of $61 , 500 shall be transferred from
<br /> available funds to the Interest on Temporary -roans, Account and the
<br /> further sum of $47, 600 shall be transferred from available funds
<br /> to the Issuance of Debt Account ; that the Board of Selectmen or

<br /> 132A, Section 11 of the General :,aws, to be azrolied by :he Town
<br /> toward the 'financing of this purchase , and to enter into contracts
<br /> and agreements with Federal and/or State agencies, pr_/ate conse-_
<br /> vation trusts , or other entities or persons in conne- ction with
<br /> the purchase and oreserzation for conservation pur-poses of all or
<br /> a major oortion of such land, and that the Cons-

<br /> ,and the Board of Selectmen are authorized to enter into agreements
<br /> and exec_,ute any and all instruments as may be necessary on behalf
