m <br /> Barnstable, ss: <br /> To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee <br /> Greetings: <br /> I'n the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts , you are hereby directed <br /> to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee who are <br /> qualified to vote in the election, to meet at the Mashpee `diddle School <br /> on `lenday, the second day of May P 83 , at 7: 30 o'clock p.;m. for the <br /> following purposes: <br /> To act on the Articles contained in the following warrant . To meet at the <br /> i,,•.�n Hall the following Saturday, May 7 , 1�83 , to bring in their votes for <br /> the election of the following officers and questions: <br /> One 4oderacor for three years; <br /> one Selectman for three year term; <br /> One Assessor for three year term; <br /> One Board of Health member for three years; <br /> one Tax Collector for three years; <br /> One Treasurer for three years; <br /> Two Library Trustees for three years; <br /> One Planning Hoard member for five years; <br /> One School Committee member for three years; <br /> One School Comsniccee member for two years unexpired term; <br /> Two Finance Committee members for three years; <br /> One Finance Committee member for two years unexpired term; <br /> One Finance Committee member for one year unexpired term; <br /> Four Housing authority members. <br /> 'ALLOT QUESTION NO. 1 <br /> "Shall this Town approve . the new charter recommended by the Charter Commission, <br /> ;ur,,:tariaed below?" <br /> YES NO <br /> �.�X RY: <br /> the pr:posed charter provides for a selaccman-administrator form of government. <br /> he _,pen town .:ieeting remains as the Town' s legislative body. In the executive <br /> -inch, the 3oard of Selectmen is increased from three to five members, .and r_he <br /> board is directed to appoint a town administrator. Three of the five members <br /> of the Board of Selectmen are to be elected from precincts, and two :embers <br /> are to be elected at large. The school c=mittee remains as it is currently. <br /> Other elective offices are moderator, co•.:n clerk, planning board, board of <br /> Library trustees, finance committee and housing authority. All other officers <br /> are appointed. <br /> BALLOT QUESTION No. 2 <br /> Shall the Town of Xashpee be allowed to assess an adJitional $102, 100 in <br /> real estate and personal property taxes for the fiscal year beginning July <br /> first, nineteen hundred and eighty-three, <br /> YES NO <br /> The polls will open at 10:00 o'clock a.m. and will be closed at 8:00 o'clock p.m. <br />
