handwritten note. The Town Archive was able to provide information about the artist.
Ann Macdonald suggested that they consult local framer John Miller to discuss the
restoration work.

The Town wants to move elections/voting locations out of the Mashpee schools. The
Library Director noted that going forward voting precincts may be assigned to the Town
Hall, Senior Center, and the Library as new voting locations. The Town Clerk, and a
representative from the State came to do a building inspection to see if the space had
suitable accessibility features to be a polling location, and it passed.

The next scheduled election is May 6, 2023. A proposal was made at the most recent
Select Board meeting to allow voting to take place amongst the three new sites. Early
voting by mail and in person will still be allowed leading up to the election. All precincts
can vote early at Town Hall. There will be an information campaign to help people learn
about the new voting locations. In 2024 there will be four elections, including the
national election in November. The Library will be open for regular business on those
days as well.

Upcoming events include: Jane Scarborough, Barnstable County Human Services
Hoarding Task Force program: Buried in Treasure. It is 18-week program on Friday
mornings in March, March Blood Drive, tax prep on Saturdays, and We Can is hosting a
legal workshop on family law. They cannot solicit clients or give out business cards
during the workshop. The lawyers are strictly volunteers who are not representing a law
firm.

An artist from Brewster will be featured in the Library’s next art show. The artist is living
with Alzheimer’s and has taken to painting as his creative outlet. He will be hosting an
art exhibit that will be on display for a month. The reception will be held Saturday, March
11, 2023 at 12:00PM. Paintings will be for sale and the proceeds will go towards
Alzheimer’s research and a donation to the Mashpee Public Library.

There was a good turnout for the concert despite the fact that the building had lost heat.
The performers arrived as scheduled and the DPW was able to repair the heating
system quickly. The sewing class is going well, and the third class is full with a waiting
list.

The Stuffie Sleepover is this week. The kids drop off their furry friends for the evening
and the Stuffies “play” all around the library and are photographed while posed doing
different activities. The pictures are placed to music and words and the movie is shown
to the kids the next day when they pick up their stuffed animal.
3
