Page 17. <br /> . • <br /> Article 64. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to accept provisions of Chapter 40, Section 4G <br /> of the Massachusetts General 'Laws and to amend the Town By-Laws by deleting the <br /> present Section 3..1.1 and substituting the following: <br /> Section 3.1.1 <br /> "Public Bid. All contracts for the purchase of equipment, supplies or <br /> materials, the actual or estimated cost of which amounts to $4,000 or more, <br /> shall be awarded in conformity with the provisions of Chapter 40,. Section <br /> 4G of the General Laws," <br /> So voted <br /> Article 65. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Town By-laws by deleting therefrom <br /> Section 3.1.2 and substituting therefor the following: <br /> Section 3.1.2 <br /> ' .Venditures. All purchases of equipment, supplies, and materials,.' - <br /> the estimated value of which amounts to $300 or more, shall be submitted. ,.:,, <br /> the Board of Selectmen or its designee by the head of the department for <br /> approval prior to execution of the purchase agreement," <br /> .Amended to exclude "or services' <br /> So voted • - _ <br /> Article 66. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Town By-Laws by deleting therefrom <br /> Section 3.1.3 and substituting therefor the following: <br /> Section 3.1.3 <br /> "'Awarding of Contracts. On all contracts for which advertisement is required <br /> pursuant to Section 3.1.1 the award shall be made to the lowest responsible <br /> bidder. In making the award, preference shall be given to any bidder who <br /> is a resident of or who maintains a business in the Town of Mashpee but only <br /> insofar as the same does not represent a substantial financial lass to the <br /> town,t I . . - <br /> So voted _ <br /> Article 67. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the by-laws of the town by adding <br /> the following: <br /> a. Pursuant to Chapter 40, Section 6C, accepted by the town on March 3, <br /> 1971, the town shall remove snow and ice from private ways open to public <br /> use as may be designated by the Board of Selectmen subject to appropriation <br /> f of funds for such purpose.
