A comparison was made with inland
towns like Stoughton and Easton, which successfully obtained state funding for
similar initiatives. Confusion arose over the awareness and application processes
for reverse osmosis technology, highlighted by Easton's complete adoption
despite its larger population than Mashpee. The group expressed a keen interest in
further exploring the subject, noting the effectiveness of reverse osmosis in
eliminating contaminants from water. Action items were established, including
researching eligibility criteria for Cape Cod towns, investigating funding options
for water quality projects, and exploring town-wide applications for reverse
osmosis systems.
1
