DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENTAL OPERATING BUDGET MEETINGS <br /> • Several FinCom members attended December budget discussions involving <br /> department heads and the Town Manager. Mr.Collins indicated that his <br /> upcoming further reviews of department requests will be forthcoming,and likely <br /> result in certain reductions from what is requested.A draft to be available next <br /> week. <br /> • CIP requests: Mr.Collins reported that proposed capital expenditures and <br /> projects will be reviewed. Schedule: <br /> i. January l5—Review <br /> ii. January 28—Further review(if needed) <br /> iii. January 30—Deliberation(if not accomplished on January 28) <br /> iv. February 10—Presentation to Select Board <br /> v. February 27—Public Hearing(along with Operations Budget) <br /> • DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET MEETING HIGHLIGHTS <br /> i. Accounting(Jamie)—Nothing exceptional other than salary adjustments <br /> ii. Assessing(Jamie)—As above. Some concern about possible litigation <br /> costs stemming from residential exemption; more likely not a <br /> departmental budget item,Jamie reported <br /> iii. Conservation(Jamie)—Nothing exceptional <br /> iv. Council of Aging(Richard)—Nothing exceptional <br /> v. DPW(Lee)—Noted up some$300,000 vs. FY25—Salaries, B&G inflation <br /> costs and maintenance <br /> vi. FIRE(Lee)—Different from original request, Higher dispatch costs(our <br /> portion of County dispatch service. <br /> 1.
