-1 474 TOWN OF MASHPEE SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT June 13, 1979 Barnstable, ss: To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee Greetings: In the ,name oftthe Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee who are qualified to vote in the election, to meet at the Mashpee Middle School on Wednesday, the thirteenth day of "Tune, 1979, at seven o'clock, p.m. , for the following purposes: To act on the articles contained in the following Warrant: Meeting opened at 10:00 p6me and a quorum was present. ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter III, Article VII, section 13 of the Town By-Laws by deleting the word „shall" in the first line thereof and substituting therefor the word "may" and further by deleting the word "shall" in the second line thereof and substituting therefor the word "may" and by adding thereto the following sentences "In the exercise of any police power conferred hereint the Director and/or Assistant Director shall come under the administrative control of the Police Department of the Town." ACTION: Matson made and seconded that Article 1 be accepted as reade motion carried. ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter II, Article 1, Section 13 of the Town By-Laws by deleting therefrom the word "shall" in the first line and substituting therefor the ,word "may", and further by deleting therefrom in the last line thereof the hyphen between the words "one" and "three" and sub- stituting therefor the word "or" so that it then reads "one or three", and further by deleting the period that appears in line three following1�the word "years" and by adding thereto the following: "and may remove him at their discretion." ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 2 be accepted as read. Motion carried. ARTICL To see if the Town will vote to establish and main- tain a Municipal Waterways Improvement and Maintenance Fund to receive revenue under sub-section (i) of Section two of Chap- ter Sixty B of the General Laws and to receive sums from other sourcesi all of said funds to be available for appropriation for the urposes set forth in clause (72) of section five of Chap- ter �Orof the General Laws, as amended from time to time, or take any other action thereon. ACTIONS Motion made and seconded that Article 3 be accepted as read. Motion carried. ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from avail- able funds the sum of $500.00, or any other sum, to be applied to the Bond Copy Lachine Account for the balance of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1979, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 4 be Indef- initely Postponed. Motion carried. ARTICLE 5. To see+if the Town will vote to transfer from avail- able funds the sum of $10,000.009 or any other sum, to be applied to the Legal and Engineering Account for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1979, or take any other action thereon.
