-1 <br /> 474 <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT <br /> June 13, 1979 <br /> Barnstable, ss: <br /> To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee Greetings: <br /> In the ,name oftthe Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are <br /> hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the <br /> Town of Mashpee who are qualified to vote in the election, to <br /> meet at the Mashpee Middle School on Wednesday, the thirteenth <br /> day of "Tune, 1979, at seven o'clock, p.m. , for the following <br /> purposes: <br /> To act on the articles contained in the following Warrant: <br /> Meeting opened at 10:00 p6me and a quorum was present. <br /> ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter III, <br /> Article VII, section 13 of the Town By-Laws by deleting the word <br /> „shall" in the first line thereof and substituting therefor the <br /> word "may" and further by deleting the word "shall" in the <br /> second line thereof and substituting therefor the word "may" and <br /> by adding thereto the following sentences "In the exercise of <br /> any police power conferred hereint the Director and/or Assistant <br /> Director shall come under the administrative control of the <br /> Police Department of the Town." <br /> ACTION: Matson made and seconded that Article 1 be accepted <br /> as reade motion carried. <br /> ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter II, <br /> Article 1, Section 13 of the Town By-Laws by deleting therefrom <br /> the word "shall" in the first line and substituting therefor the <br /> ,word "may", and further by deleting therefrom in the last line <br /> thereof the hyphen between the words "one" and "three" and sub- <br /> stituting therefor the word "or" so that it then reads "one or <br /> three", and further by deleting the period that appears in line <br /> three following1�the word "years" and by adding thereto the <br /> following: "and may remove him at their discretion." <br /> ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 2 be accepted <br /> as read. Motion carried. <br /> ARTICL To see if the Town will vote to establish and main- <br /> tain a Municipal Waterways Improvement and Maintenance Fund to <br /> receive revenue under sub-section (i) of Section two of Chap- <br /> ter Sixty B of the General Laws and to receive sums from other <br /> sourcesi all of said funds to be available for appropriation for <br /> the urposes set forth in clause (72) of section five of Chap- <br /> ter �Orof the General Laws, as amended from time to time, or take <br /> any other action thereon. <br /> ACTIONS Motion made and seconded that Article 3 be accepted <br /> as read. Motion carried. <br /> ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from avail- <br /> able funds the sum of $500.00, or any other sum, to be applied <br /> to the Bond Copy Lachine Account for the balance of the fiscal <br /> year ending June 30, 1979, or take any other action thereon. <br /> ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 4 be Indef- <br /> initely Postponed. Motion carried. <br /> ARTICLE 5. To see+if the Town will vote to transfer from avail- <br /> able funds the sum of $10,000.009 or any other sum, to be applied <br /> to the Legal and Engineering Account for the fiscal year ending <br /> June 30, 1979, or take any other action thereon. <br />
