2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 19, 2008 <br /> Present: Selectman Cook, Selectman Cahalane, Selectman Myers, <br /> Selectman Green, Selectman Taylor <br /> Town Manger Joyce Mason <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Cook at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room#1 <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Monday,ALnl 28, 2008 Regular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers to approve the Regular Session <br /> minutes of Monday,April 28,2008 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor absent for vote. <br /> Monday, May S, 2008 Regular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers to approve the Regular Session <br /> minutes of Monday,May S,2008 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Taylor absent for vote. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Peter White, 72 Main Street congratulated the Board of Selectmen on a <br /> successful Town Meeting. Mr. White indicated the voters were well <br /> informed and good decisions were made, although he remarked that he <br /> was not supportive of the fuel depot, approved at the May Town Meeting. <br /> In his opinion,Mr. White suggested the Town defer implementation and <br /> consider cost saving initiatives such as alternative energy efficient <br /> vehicles. With regards to the solar energy article approved by Town <br /> Meeting for the Senior Center, Mr. White stated that an additional $6,000 <br /> would provide for more kilowatt hours. Mr. White gave a pledge to work <br /> towards attaining the additional funding. As a new member of the <br /> Mashpee Environmental Coalition,Mr. White also urged the citizens of <br /> the Town of Mashpee to work for more renewable energy. <br />
