12 <br /> i <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 21, 2008 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Recommendation for Appointment—Historic District Commission: <br /> A letter of interest was received from Marian Spencer requesting <br /> appointment to the Historic District Commission. Correspondence was <br /> received from Lee Gurney dated July 7, 2008 recommending her <br /> appointment. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cook to appoint Marian Spencer to the <br /> Historic District Commission. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Recommendation for A ointment—HOME Consortium Adviso <br /> Council: <br /> As a result of the resignation of the Human Services Director, a vacancy <br /> of Mashpee's representative to the Barnstable County HOME <br /> Consortium's Advisory Board exits. The term of Mashpee's <br /> representative runs through January 2009 with subsequent terms of three <br /> years. <br /> It was agreed the position would be duly advertised and placed on the <br /> Selectmen's August agenda. <br /> Recommendation for Appointment—Waterways Commission: <br /> Correspondence was received from Ken Bates; Chair of the Waterways <br /> Commission dated July 15, 2008 announcing that John Swartzbaugh does <br /> not wish to seek an additional term on the Waterways Commission. <br /> The Waterways Commission conducted interviews and recommended the <br /> appointment of Steven Pinard to fill the vacancy. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to rescind the appointment of John <br /> Swartzbaugh as a Waterways Commission member, and appoint <br /> Steven Pinard to the Waterways Commission for a term to expire <br /> June 30,2009. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cook. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
