2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 5, 2007 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing--Capital Improvement Program: <br /> The Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing on the proposed <br /> Capital Improvement Plan for FY2008. The Hearing notice was read <br /> aloud in accordance with posting requirements. Members of the Capital <br /> Improvement Program(CIP)Committee were in attendance. <br /> Article#3 of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant proposes to appropriate, <br /> borrow, or transfer from available funds,the sum of$1,012,388 to various <br /> department Capital Accounts. Funding for the replacement of(2) <br /> ambulances, $330,000 would derive from the Ambulance Receipts <br /> Account. <br /> Being no comment, the Board motioned-to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the Capital <br /> Improvement Program Committee(CIP) recommendation, and adopt <br /> the Capital Improvement Program for FY08 in the amount of <br /> $1,012,388. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Myers. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Otis Civilian Advisory Council President Jimmy G. Dishner, B/Gen(ret) <br /> USAF: <br /> As a result of appointment conflicts, James Dishner was unable to meet, <br /> with the Board of Selectmen. The matter of discussion would be placed <br /> on a future agenda topic of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> United States Postal Service: <br /> Correspondence was received from the United States Postal Service <br /> (LISPS) dated February 26,2007 regarding the site location for the future <br /> Mashpee Post Office. It was noted the letter concludes their advertisement <br /> and site reviews for possible locations. <br /> The LISPS intends to construct a new facility on Steeple Street,Mashpee <br /> Commons, Building 22 next to the proposed expanded Library. <br />
