7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 24, 2007 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Request for Reappointment—Historical Commission: <br /> The Selectmen were requested to reappoint Gordon Peters to the.Historical <br /> Commission as a result of an omission in the list of annual reappointments <br /> approved by the Board this past June. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to reappoint Gordon Peters to the <br /> Historical Commission for a term to expire June 30,2009. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Proclamation—United Nations Day: <br /> October 24,.2007 marks the 62°d anniversary of the United Nations. Since <br /> 1947, every U.S. President has issued a proclamation asking citizens to <br /> observe this special occasion. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to support and proclaim October <br /> 24,2007 as United Nations Day. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Letter of Support for Falmouth's Grant Application to County Water <br /> Protection Collaborative:. <br /> The Town of Falmouth is requesting the County Water Protection <br /> Collaborative for a grant to have groundwater modeling done for a <br /> potential treated wastewater discharge area at the Falmouth County Club <br /> property, which is a recharge area for Waquoit Bay. The Mashpee Board <br /> of Selectmen were asked to provide a letter of support for the grant project <br /> entitled Groundwater Modeling to Evaluate a Wastewater Management <br /> Alternative for the Shared Waquoit Bay Watershed. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to send a letter of support on <br /> behalf of the Town of Falmouth's grant application. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
