9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 30,2006 <br /> Cape Cod Water Resources Restoration Project: <br /> The Selectmen were requested to support the National Resources <br /> Conservation Service (MRCS)proposed Cape Cod Water Resources <br /> Restoration Project to restore approximately twenty-four tidally-restricted <br /> salt marches,remediate approximately twenty-four storm-water outfalls <br /> and repair up to two dozen impaired herring runs Cape-wide. <br /> Mashpee has several projects listed in the NRCS plan which would benefit <br /> the shellfish and natural resources of all of the Cape Towns. It was noted <br /> the Cape Cod Water Collaborative voted to support the project. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cook to submit a letter of support for the <br /> proposed Cape Cod Water Resources Restoration Project. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Request to Change Time of Town Meetipg: <br /> The option to change the time of Town Meeting from 7:30 p.m. to 7:00 <br /> p.m. was considered by the Board as a result of an email from Janice <br /> Walford dated October 23, 2006. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cook to change the time of Town Meeting <br /> to 7:00 p.m. beginning with the May 2007 Town Meeting for a one- <br /> year trial, to be renewed for the May 2008 Town Meeting. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0., <br /> Materni Leave/FMLA Leave Re uesV <br /> Correspondence was received from Carla Newbrey dated September 23, <br /> 2006 requesting to be placed on eight weeks maternity leave on the <br /> approximate date of February 28, 2006. The Town Manager <br /> recommended the Board approve the maternity leave to run concurrently <br /> with Family and Medical Leave. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cook to approve the eight week maternity <br /> leave concurrent with Family and Medical Leave for Carla Newbrey <br /> as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
