r <br /> 2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> • Minutes <br /> May 23, 2005 <br /> COMM[.JNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Mashpee Commons Update: <br /> The Selectmen were updated on the Mashpee Commons development <br /> project. The Town Manager recently attended a meeting where the <br /> proponents of the project requested an extension of sixty days from the <br /> July date that would allow them to work under the current 2002 regional <br /> policy. It was noted that the Planning Board voted unanimously not to <br /> support the extension although there was no representation at the Cape <br /> Cod Commission meeting. The Planning Board is expected to give an <br /> opinion as to why they are not in support of the extension. <br /> DOR Update: <br /> In other business, it was reported that recent developments from the <br /> Department of Revenue(DOR) indicate that Mashpee may receive an <br /> increase in Local Aid. Presently,the appropriation is estimated at <br /> $107,000. Additional funding is also anticipated to be derived from <br /> Lottery Aid. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Recommendation for Appointment-Town Ph, sib <br /> Marilyn Farren, Personnel Administrator was present to recommend the <br /> Board appoint a second Town Physician to conduct physicals for Town <br /> employees. In accordance with the needs of the Town and to the standards <br /> of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for public safety personnel, Dr. <br /> Richard J. Mosychuck was recommended for the second appointment. <br /> Dr. Mosychuck is the owner of Cape Cod Family Practice & Sports <br /> Medicine in Mashpee Commons. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to appoint Dr. Richard J. <br /> Mosychuck as a Town Physician as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> I <br />
