Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 8, 2002 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Ratification of Seasonal Appointments: <br /> Pursuant to the Selectmen's directive,the Town Administrator appointed <br /> the following seasonal appointments; <br /> Junior Camp Counselor—Shannon Gilbert <br /> Lifeguard—Mark Marchant <br /> Naomi Lopez—Gate Attendant <br /> Justin Fisher—Gate Attendant <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to ratify the above referenced <br /> Seasonal Appointments as appointed by the Town Administrator. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Allocation of County Surplus Funds: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Barnstable County Commissioners <br /> dated July 1, 2002 allocating $13,473.73 in grant funding. The County <br /> has authorized a total of$250,000 in grants to the fifteen Cape towns. <br /> As with previous programs,.the town must let the.County Commissioners <br /> know how the funds are intended to be used. <br /> The following allocation was considered by the Board of Selectmen; <br /> Mashpee High School Boosters Club—Press Box$3,500 <br /> Mashpee Police Department—Bryne Grant $4,930 (matching funds) <br /> Beach Surf Wheel Chairs(2) - $2,355 (each) <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalan to accept the grant.of County <br /> reimbursement funding as referenced apportioned to the above <br /> programs as outlined. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the Police <br /> Department's grant application for Cape Cod Law Enforcement, an <br /> initiative designed to enhance the coordination of public safety efforts <br /> in the Cape Cod region. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br />
