9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 23, 2002 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Request for App%v_al-Participation in Municipal Recycling_Initiative <br /> Program(MRIP): <br /> Correspondence was received from Catherine Laurent dated September <br /> 16, 2002 recommending the Board participate in the FY03 Municipal <br /> Recycling Incentive Program The program encourages recycling in <br /> municipalities by offering monetary rewards for recycling efforts. Last <br /> year, the Town received a total payment of$3,701.78 for its recycling. <br /> Participation does not require additional work or expenditures from the <br /> Town. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Green to participate in the FY03 <br /> Municipal Recycling Incentive Program(MRIP) as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> DPW Director-Update: <br /> Catherine Laurent updated the Selectmen on the recent road improvements <br /> to South Sandwich Road. Cer-Trom Construction Corp of Plymouth has <br /> also begun construction of the Heritage Park Little League Field. <br /> Ms. Laurent was requested to update the Selectmen on funding initiatives <br /> for the parking lot prior to the removal of the older Little League Field. In <br /> December,the Assistant DPW Director will be notified if grant funding <br /> would be obtained to assist with the parking lot construction. <br /> Personnel Administrator—Em to ee Assistant Program: <br /> Marilyn Farren, Personnel Administrator was present to recommend the <br /> Town contract with the EAP Network effective October 15, 2002 through <br /> June 30, 2003. It was noted that the Cape Cod Employee Assistance <br /> Program will not continue to offer services to the Town as of June 30, <br /> 2002. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to contract with the Employee <br /> Assistance Network(EAP)as recommended pending the October 7, <br /> 2002 Town Meeting authorization for full funding appropriation. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br />
