He feels that if a new truck is <br /> allowed to take the rubbish to the Transfer Station it could represent <br /> substantial savings over a several year period - also in light of the <br /> increased rubbish with the new school facility. The Finance Committee <br /> questioned whether or not the DPW could remove the trash and it was <br /> agreed that this would be checked into. <br /> DeMoura also noted the copier problem at the school. The present <br /> copier was not meant for heavy duty production — last year $450,000 <br /> copies were made and there were less students. This $18,000 represents <br /> money for a copier that would just be for teacher use. <br /> DeMoura noted the need for five modular classrooms on a 5 year <br /> lease/purchase agreement with the approximate cost of $212,500. <br /> The school roof is also in need of replacement with a total cost <br /> of $22,500 - this figure is 70% reimbursable. <br /> DeMoura informed the Finance Committee that the 7 .8 million school bond issue <br /> includes $500,000 for. furniture and equipment . The Finance Committee <br /> expressed their concern about the costs that will be required for additional <br /> staffing. <br /> Superintendent DeMoura expressed his appreciation to the Finance <br /> Committee for the opportunity to present his prelimary budget projections <br /> for FY89. <br /> The Finance Committee adjourned at 9: 15 .
