13 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 21, 2001 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Approval of Utility Hearings: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to approve NSTAR Plan Number <br /> 1035 to install underground cable and conduit on Falmouth-Sandwich <br /> Road at the intersection of the Otis Line as specified with a Mashpee <br /> Police Detail Officer. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Marsters abstained. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to approve Verizon Petition <br /> Number 01-519 for approximately 257' of conduit(s) and for 2 <br /> 12'x6'x7' manholes to be placed on Great Neck Road for the cemetery <br /> project with the use of a Mashpee Police Detail Officer. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Bar mann Hendrie& Archetype—Update on Community Facilities: <br /> The recreation and leisure services space programming was presented to <br /> the Selectmen by Bargmann Hendrie&Archetype. Topics within the <br /> community facilities plan include the senior center,human services, and <br /> leisure services. <br /> Additional spaces considered include an indoor pool, ice arena, multi-use <br /> field house, fitness center, pre-school and day care center. -Square footage <br /> requirements and proposals were considered. The Board suggested the <br /> architect consider reducing the scope of the project to conform to <br /> budgetary constraints and thus limiting the building areas in square <br /> footage. Mandated space requirements and needs were also discussed. <br /> The Selectmen agreed to prioritize the building projects that have been <br /> requested which may have a substantial impact on Town finances. These <br /> projects include the Town Library, Senior Center, Leisure <br /> Services/Community Center, DPW Storage Facility, Fire Substation, <br /> Aquatic Center, Ice Rink and Sewer.Expansion. <br />
