MA 02649 <br /> Finance Committee Minutes <br /> Town Hall <br /> June 15 , 1988 <br /> Present : Carol Dunivan , John Ferriday , Carl Heller , Gerald Sewell <br /> and Vern Polka , Town Accountant <br /> The Finance Committee Meeting commenced at 7 : 30 p . m. Chairman <br /> Heller noted the the Finance Committee was invited by Chris Burden <br /> to attend a Planning Board meeting . This meeting was to be held <br /> directly after the Finance Committee adjourned . The Planning Board <br /> meeting was to be a presentation to review New Seabury Corporation ' s <br /> request for a 20-year renewal of their special permit . <br /> Heller informed the Finance Committee members of two upcoming <br /> Town Meetings : <br /> August 8th <br /> November 14th (proposed changes in town <br /> bylaws) <br /> Chairman Heller distributed for review a letter he had received <br /> from Wilfred Learned , Director of Cape Cod Tech, dated June 7 , 1988 <br /> and his subsequent reply to this letter dated June 12 , 1988 . In <br /> his correspondence Mr . Learned outlined the school ' s plan of action <br /> for budget development and the school's long-range plans . Carl ' s <br /> reply stated his fears that the actions being instituted would not <br /> produce enough savings or additional revenues to cover next year ' s <br /> operating costs . Carl suggested that the school consider the <br /> allocation of the fiscal year budget apportionment to the individual <br /> towns on the basis of a direct-assignment on a per pupil cost for <br /> each non-special-needs student enrolled to each town combined with <br /> the actual cost for each special-needs student that each town has <br /> registered . He noted that this would place the financial respon- <br /> sibility more directly on the towns that are over-using Cape Cod <br /> Tech as a placement for their special-needs students . <br /> Finance Committee members proceeded to review Requests for <br /> Transfer from the Reserve Fund . <br /> 1 . Request for Transfer from the Reserve Fund <br /> Submitted by Jane La Bute , Town Clerk <br /> Amount of request : $2 . 00 to the Elections & Registration Clerk ' s <br /> Salary Account .
