,Finance Committee <br /> February 1 , 1989 <br /> Page 4 . <br /> Culture & Recreation <br /> Library Automation — $20 , 000 Finance Committee members were <br /> concerned about the subsequent costs of this request . What will be <br /> the year to year costs of such automation? John Ferriday noted that <br /> he was not enthusiastic about this request . Diane Kingsley will <br /> be asked to address the Finance Committee about this automation on <br /> February 7th . <br /> Baseball Field — $18 , 700 Ed Dolan believes there is a need for <br /> another field in town . He noted that he could not address the <br /> costs however he did express his belief that a little could be done <br /> each year or perhaps it could be done at a somewhat lower cost . <br /> Phillip Scorgie , President of the Little League will be asked to <br /> join the Finance Committee meeting on February 7th to address this . <br /> Attaquin Park — $11 , 600 Members of the Attaquin Park Committee <br /> will be asked to join the meeting on the 7th of 1ebruary to discuss <br /> their capital request . Member Dolan noted that he felt there <br /> should only be one central playground in town and he did not see <br /> the need for the playground at the beach . <br /> Senior Center Addition - $25,000 Carl Heller noted the need to see some <br /> plans on this. The Building Committee will have to address this issue. He <br /> further noted his belief that this should be a 2'Z override issue. <br /> Natural Resources <br /> Water Quality Laboratory — $10 , 000 i)aul Somerville Lhe <br /> Shellfish Warden will be asked to attend the meeting on February 7th <br /> to discuss this with the Finance Committee . <br /> Dredging — $25 , 000 Members felt this should be a 22 exemption . <br /> These funds would be for Phase II of Popponesset Bay Dredging <br /> Project . <br /> Harbormaster Truck — $20 , 000 The Finance Committee again expressed <br /> concern over the requests for trucks and Chairman Heller noted the <br /> need to check out the situation . <br /> Harbormaster Boat Trailer — $10 , 800 Chairman Heller noted his <br /> belief that this seemed to be a reasonable request . <br /> Conservation fund — $25 , 000 This represents monies to provide <br /> for expenses associatedwith conservation lands ' maintenance and <br /> improvements as well as for providing funds for expenses associated <br /> with land purchases , such as land appraisals . <br /> Bog Irrigation System — $7 , 800 This would allow for the r. <br /> Commission to continue to set aside funds to purchase the irrigation <br /> system for the Quashuet River cranberry bogs as per the lease <br /> agreement with the .bog operators . <br /> Survey Conservation Land — $20 , 000 This :is to Obtain the <br /> services of a surveyor to conduct boundary surveys of land under <br /> control of the Commission . <br />
