7 Board of Selectmen Minutes September 24, 2001 Proposed Community Advisory Committee for Nitrogen Management Plan: Selectman Cahalane stepped down for the above referenced issue. Tom Fudala, the Town Planner was present to recommend the Selectmen establish a Community Advisory Committee(CAC), an ad hoc committee proposed for the Watershed Nitrogen Management Plan and Preliminary Effluent Pipeline Design project. It was noted that the Sewer Commission recommended the creation of a committee as a result of the Watershed Management Committee's failure to reach a quorum due to resignations. Recommendations for the ad hoc committee include a Planning Board representative, a Sewer Commission representative and the following make-up of representatives, one each from; The Board of Health, Waterways Commission, Shellfish Commission, Mashpee Chamber of Commerce and Mashpee Environmental Coalition. In addition, one resident from each of the Town's(5) voting precincts, shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen. One representative from each of the adjacent towns of Falmouth, Sandwich and Barnstable, portions of the intended area of study, are also recommended to be included in the proposal as set forth by the Sewer Commission. Mr. Fudala outlined the objectives of the CAC as recommended in the memorandum of September 5, 2001 addressed to the Board of Selectmen from the Mashpee Sewer Commission. R Motion made by Selectman Leveille to establish a Community Advisory Committee(CAC), an ad hoc committee comprised of membership as outlined in the memorandum of September 5, 2001 to include representation from the Conservation Commission. Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Selectman Cahalane abstained. It was agreed that the Sewer Commission would advertise to seek letters of interest for representation of the Town's(5) voting precincts. i
