7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 19, 2001 <br /> Change Order 43 —Cemetery <br /> Cemetery Change Order 43 in the amount of$1,185.80 was presented <br /> to the Selectmen for approval. <br /> Description: Addition of WX350 Pressure Tank to include tank fittings. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the Mashpee <br /> Municipal Cemetery Change Order#3 in the amount of$1,185.80. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Request for Emergency Repairs— Simons Narrows Road: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Bayridge Homeowners <br /> Association, Inc. dated October 25, 2001 relative to their interest <br /> in having Simons Narrows Road taken as a public way. The homeowners <br /> intend to pursue a petition for the taking under the Betterment Act. <br /> The road has substantially deteriorated in the last several years with heavy <br /> use by large truck traffic generated by housing development in Shoestring <br /> Bay. The Board of Selectmen has been request to authorize emergency <br /> road funds for the repair of the catch basins that have dropped <br /> approximately 12' from the road surface. <br /> Greg Taylor, Director of Public Works discussed his review of the <br /> drainage system along Simons Narrows Road. Mr. Taylor has estimated <br /> the repair to cost $27,000. The road repair projection exceeds the Town <br /> wide emergency road repair budget of$10,000 per year. <br /> Discussion followed. The Selectmen agreed to notify the subject <br /> homeowners of the taking process, suggest that a petition be prepared and <br /> request that additional options be considered by the association at this <br /> time. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to deny the request to conduct <br /> emergency repairs to Simons Narrows Road. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> V4 _: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
