12 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 27, 2000 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Outstandiniz Grants Submitted by Town Departments: <br /> Leisure Services Department: <br /> Pursuant to the Selectmen's policy relative to proposed grant applications, <br /> Gus Frederick, the Leisure Services Director was present to update the <br /> Board on the ongoing Mashpee Learning Center grant. <br /> As noted,the $40,000 existing grant funds after-school programs such as <br /> the Kids Klub Program, Youth Enrichment Programs and Summer Camp <br /> activities. In the future, user fees will be considered to support the <br /> referenced programs. <br /> Conservation Commission: <br /> The Conservation Commission seeks to apply for a $3,3000 grant to <br /> Fund the printing of a comprehensive conservation land map for the Town <br /> of Mashpee. The map was developed in-house. There is presently no map <br /> of this kind for general public review. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to support the above referenced <br /> grant application request for the printing of comprehensive <br /> conservation.land maps. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Blythe. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Appqintment of Clerk of the Works—Fire Station: <br /> Correspondence was received from Town Counsel with respect to <br /> overtime work for the Assistant Building Inspector to serve as Clerk of the <br /> Works for the Mashpee Fire&Rescue Station renovation project. <br /> In Town Counsel's opinion,Russell Wheeler, the Assistant Building <br /> Inspector is able to perform the duties as Clerk of the Works. Under the <br /> terms of the collective bargaining agreement,the Assistant Building <br /> Inspector must be paid at the rate of time-and-one-half of hours in excess <br /> of his regular forty-hour work week. <br /> Mr. Wheeler was present in support of his additional responsibilities. <br />
