ARTICLE 36 <br /> The article seeks funds for additional facility planning for septage disposal to <br /> satisfy State requirements. The Finance Committee has not voted on this article <br /> because it did not have a firm figure. Jim notified the Committee that the figure <br /> being requested is $10,000. There was no discussion. <br /> John Ferriday made a motion, and Carl seconded it, to recommend approval of <br /> Article 36. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> ARTICLE 38 <br /> The article requests $20,000 in anticipaiton of 100% reimbursement for repair of <br /> the Quinaquisset Bridge. The final motion printed in the Committee's copy of the <br /> warrant does not include the language as approved by this Committee at its <br /> September 12 meeting. John wrote out the wording the Committee wants included <br /> in the motion and the DPW Director was given a copy. The additional language <br /> states the town will not spend the funds unless and until a signed contract is <br /> received from the State for 100% reimbursement. <br /> ARTICLE 44 <br /> The article directs the Board of Selectmen to negotiate for the purchase or lease <br /> of a commerical property in Mashpee known as Pine Tree Place as an alternative <br /> to constructing a new town hall. Carl spoke against lease or purchase based on <br /> his disapproval of the property as a suitable facility, and Jim was against it, <br /> saying the town cannot afford it and should not be in the real estate business. <br /> Deirdre spoke in favor of the article, since it only directs the Selectmen to look <br /> into it as an option which can be brought before the voters at the annual town <br /> meeting in May. <br /> Carl made a motion, and Carole seconded it, to not recommend. Article 44.
