MA 02649 <br /> MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> Special Sub-Committee <br /> Examining FY91 School Surplus <br /> April 25, 1991 <br /> Present: Carole Dunivan, Carl Heller, and Jim Vaccaro <br /> The meeting of the Special Sub-Committee commenced at 6:30 p.m. <br /> at Town Hall. .Tim Vaccaro stated that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> deliver the preliminary report prepared by the Special Sub-Committee regarding <br /> FY91 school surplus and to discuss a recommendation to be made to the <br /> full Finance Committee. <br /> The Preliminary Report was presented and discussed (copy attached). <br /> Carl'Heller stated that the Finance Committee needs a response from the <br /> School Committee - there are a lot of unanswered questions. He noted <br /> the need for a justification of the Preliminary Report and a confirmation <br /> of the real surplus figure. Carole noted that she would like the School <br /> Committee to respond to their impact statements (copy attached). <br /> There is a joint meeting on Monday, April 29th at 6:30 with the <br /> Selectmen, School Committee and the Finance Committee. It is the hope of <br /> the Sub-Committee that a response from the School Committee will be available. <br /> There are a number of options available to the Finance Committee including, <br /> a moratorium on spending, reconsideration of the FY92 budget, conducting <br /> an inventory of supplies and a check of all invoices. Members agreed that <br /> it was best to hold their recommendation to the full `Finance Committee <br /> till after the meeting with the School Committee and Dr. DeMoura on Monday. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 7:10 P.m. <br /> Board Secretary <br /> i <br />
