MA 02649
FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES
Town Hall
July 9 , 1991
Present : Tom Bodwell, Tony Gallo , Deirdre Greelish, Denise
Sullivan
Al Polsi joined the meeting at 7 : 30 p.m.
The Finance Committee meeting commenced at 7 p.m. The first
order of business was the approval of the minutes of June 24,
and June 27 , 1991 . Deirdre motioned that the members approve
the minutes of both meetings as submitted. Denise Sullivan
seconded the motion and there was a unanimous vote of
approval.
Tony noted that there was only one piece of correspondence
and that was from the Town Clerk. In a memorandum dated July
9 , 1991 the clerk noted. that as of July 7 , 1991 508 shellfish
permits had been. sold. From April to July monies collected
and turned in totalled $5, 810 .
Tony noted that this meeting had been called to "brainstorm"
ideas on how to save the town money. Tony cited the
need for a transportation coordinator to control the car
pool. This could be an additional duty of the DPW Director
for a sum of money or an individual in the office. All
members concurred that there is a definite need to explore
the benefits of a car pool, possible present abuse , insurance
coverage and the necessity of a transportation coordinator..
Denise agreed to investigate the present insurance and
coverage that would be needed for a car pool .
The second item suggested to save the town money was the
policy of compensatory time .
