MA 02649 <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> Town Hall <br /> September 16 , 1991 <br /> Present : Tom Bodwell , John Ferriday, Tony Gallo , Deirdre <br /> Greelish, Al Polsi , Denise Sullivan and Jim Vaccaro <br /> The Finance Committee meeting commenced at 6 : 30 p.m. The <br /> first order of business was the approval of the minutes of <br /> the meeting of September 10th. Jim noted two corrections to <br /> the minutes . Page 3 , paragraph 3 should be amended to read, <br /> "The article not to defer the teachers compensation, Sections <br /> 228-231 of Chapter 138 of the Massachusetts FY92 budget will <br /> be recommended by the Committee , " Also page 6 , paragraph 8 <br /> should read, "Jim agreed to check with the Police Chief <br /> regarding the article seeking acceptance of the provisions of <br /> Chapter 147 , Section 10F of the Massachusetts General Laws . " <br /> Tony Gallo motioned that the amended minutes be approved and <br /> Deirdre seconded the motion. There was unanimous approval . <br /> The Chairman noted that the Selectmen had not executed the <br /> Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting. The Finance Committee <br /> adjourned at 7 p . :s,. to attend a joint meeting with the <br /> Selectmen to discuss the warrant and also to hear a <br /> 1 presentation by Dr. DeMoura regarding school space needs . <br /> The Selectmen executed the warrant and approved the <br /> withdrawal of six warrant articles that appeared on the draft <br /> warrant of 9/13/91 . The following articles were withdrawn. <br /> • The article seeking to transfer $5 , -$8 ,000 for the <br /> Waterways Improvement Fund and expend the funds for <br /> replacement of buoys , markers , and floats was <br /> withdrawn. This article represents damage done by <br /> Hurricane Bob. <br /> • The article to increase the- hours of the Assistant <br /> Health Agent was withdrawn at the request of the Board <br /> of Health. <br /> • The article to rehabilitate the Fire Department ' s <br /> Water Tanker was withdrawn. Chairman of the <br /> Finance Committee noted that the approximate cost of <br /> the rehabilitation was $50 -$60 ,000 and the money was <br /> just not available . Jim conceded that this will <br /> eventually need to be done , however , this article <br /> could put the budget out of balance . Jim stressed <br />
