Mr. Vaccaro explained that the money would be
used to replace the 23 year old 19' Aquasport which would sink if
launched. He also stated that the motor from the old boat would be
used on the new boat and any other things that could be utilized
from the old boat. This was an unforeseen emergency and it cannot
wait. If ordered by next week, the boat will be ready for Memorial
Day weekend. If this had to wait until town meeting, there would
be no guaranteed date, possibly making it July. John Ferriday
MOTIONED that the Finance Committee honor the request to transfer
$8,500 from the Reserve Account to the Harbormaster Capital
Account. The expenditure is necessary. Dan Goggin seconded the
motion and all members agreed 4-0 to honor the request.
Diane Rommelmeyer, Town Accountant, was also present at the meeting
and discussed the Warrants for the Special Town Meeting. She also
stated that the only available funds for the Special Town Meeting
were probably the surplus from the Falmouth Tuition, approximately
$157,000 and a possible surplus from Unemployment Insurance. Ms.
Rommelmeyer was going to consult with Anne Shaw regarding the
Unemployment Account. Ms. Greelish stated that she felt the
Finance Committee needed to meet with the Board of Assessors to
discuss questions regarding the revaluation and why it was switched .
from the Annual to the Special Town Meeting. She also questioned
the responsibilities of the Lister in their office.
