MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> JUNE 30, 1992 <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:00 P.M. <br /> Members Present: Deirdre Greelish, Chairperson; Dan Goggin, Ed <br /> Baker; Denise Sullivan, John Ferriday and Roger Dunivan. <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Ed Baker motioned to accept the regular session minutes of June 16, <br /> 1992. Roger Dunivan seconded the motion and members voted to <br /> accept the minutes as written by a vote of 4-0, Mr. Goggin and Mr. <br /> Ferriday abstaining. Ed Baker motioned to accept the executive <br /> session minutes of June 16, 1992. Roger Dunivan seconded the <br /> motion and members voted to accept the minutes as written by a vote <br /> of 4-0, Mr. Goggin and Mr.Ferriday abstaining. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Members discussed a memo sent by Dr. DeMoura to Charles P. Liberty, <br /> Principal. The subject of the memo was the 15 classroom addition. <br /> The memo listed 16 items for inclusion into the 15 room addition. <br /> Roger Dunivan MOTIONED that Liaison Ferriday discuss this memo with <br /> the School Building Committee and report back_ to the Finance <br /> Committee with the results of their discussion. Ed Baker seconded <br /> the motion. Members voted 6-0 in favor of the motion. Mr. Goggin <br /> felt that the Finance Committee should reemphasize what is proposed <br /> and what was actually accepted. Mr. Baker also felt that what was <br /> requested to the Finance Committee, the Board of Selectmen and the <br /> voters was a 15 room addition not all the extras included in the <br /> memo. He felt that they should just build the rooms and then do <br /> the study. Mr. Baker felt that they should not break faith with <br /> the voters of this town. Mr. Baker MOTIONED that the Finance <br /> Committee reaffirm their position which was very basically to 1. <br /> build 15 rooms like the rooms that are presently available with <br /> restrooms; 2. fund a study to determine what is required to change <br /> modified middle school to high school ; and 3 . connect water line <br /> from the Coombs school to the Middle School . Dan Goggin seconded <br /> the motion. Mr. Dunivan suggested strongly that the Finance <br /> Committee research their written comment on their position. Mr. <br /> Dunivan MOTIONED that Mr. Baker's motion be amended to include that <br /> the minutes which stated their position be sent to the School <br /> Building Committee and the Board of Selectmen. Members voted in <br /> favor of Mr. Baker's motion with Mr. Dunivan's amendment 6-0 in <br /> approval. <br /> Members then discussed a memo which would be sent to the Board of <br /> Selectmen from the Finance Committee dated June 30 , 1992 regarding <br /> current legal services expenditures and the results of the informal <br /> study. Mr. Baker MOTIONED to approve forwarding of the memo. Dan <br /> Goggin seconded the motion and members voted in favor 6-0 of <br /> forwarding the memo with correction in paragraph 2 to contain the <br />
