MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> JUNE 16, 1992 <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:0.0 P.M. <br /> Members Present: Deirdre Greelish, Chairperson; Tony Gallo, Ed <br /> Baker; Denise Sullivan and Roger Dunivan. <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Ed Baker motioned to, accept the regular session minutes of June 2, <br /> 1992. Roger Dunivan seconded the motion and members voted to <br /> accept the minutes as written by a unanimous vote of 5-0. Ed Baker <br /> motioned to accept the executive session minutes of June 2, 1992. <br /> Roger Dunivan seconded the motion and members voted to accept the <br /> minutes as written by a unanimous vote of 5-0. <br /> RESERVE FUND BALANCE: $83,294.63 <br /> Diane Rommelmeyer, Town Accountant, was present at the meeting to <br /> discuss certain requests for transfer from the Reserve Fund <br /> Account. The first request was for .37 from the town account to <br /> fund a deficit balance in the Temporary Borrowing Inside 2 1/2 <br /> Account. Interest had exceeded the budgeted amount. <br /> Tony Gallo MOTIONED to approve the transfer of .37 from the Reserve <br /> Fund Account. Ed Baker seconded the motion and members voted in <br /> favor 5-0 of the transfer. <br /> The second request for transfer was for .40 from the town <br /> accountant to fund a deficit balance in the interest and fees in <br /> the Briarwood Account. The transfer of funds at the special town <br /> meeting exceeded the available funds by .40. <br /> Tony Gallo MOTIONED to approve the transfer of .40 from the Reserve <br /> Fund Account. Ed Baker seconded the motion and members voted in <br /> favor 5-0. <br /> The third and fourth request from Ms. Rommelmeyer regarded the <br /> Hurricane Bob Account. These requests involved some discussion <br /> from committee members. The controversy regarding Popponesset Spit <br /> was the reasoning. The first request was for $22,063.00 which <br /> would fund the Town's share of the Hurricane Bob expenses 12.5% of <br /> the total approved by FEMA (excludes 12.5% for Popponesset Spit) . <br /> Ed Baker MOTIONED to accept this transfer. Roger Dunivan seconded <br /> the motion and members voted 4-1, Tony Gallo opposing. The second <br /> request was for 24 ,649.00 which would fund the Town'$ share of the <br /> Hurricane Bob expenses 12.5% of the total approved by FEMA $197,191 <br /> (includes 12.5% for Popponesset Spit) . This transfer was <br /> disapproved by the Finance Committee. Roger Dunivan had previously <br /> MOTIONED to accept this. transfer, Mr. Gallo had seconded. There <br /> was discussion and the committee voted 2 in favor, 3 opposed. Some <br /> of the discussion involved being uncomfortable voting for a <br />
