G <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 22, 2000 <br /> COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> AFCEE—Monitoring Wells: <br /> Late filed correspondence was received from the Air Force for <br /> Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) dated May 19, 2000 relative to <br /> a proposal to install new monitoring wells along Hooppole Road and on <br /> the eastern shore of John's Pond to assist in the delineation of the CS-10 <br /> plume. <br /> Several issues relative to the proposed hours of operation, layout and <br /> notification to area residents and abutters were considered. The Board <br /> agreed to schedule a Public Hearing on June 5, 2000 to further review this <br /> matter. <br /> Completion of Vehicle Training Course—Lt. Kevin Long: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance <br /> Association (MIIA) dated May 9, 2000 announcing that Lieutenant Kevin <br /> Long of the Mashpee Fire&Rescue Department has recently participated <br /> in an emergency vehicle training course sponsored in Plymouth this past <br /> April. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to remit a letter of appreciation <br /> to Lieutenant Kevin Long on behalf of the Board of Selectmen for his <br /> participation in the driver training program exercise. The letter of <br /> appreciation shall be retained in Mr. Long's personnel rile. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> VFW Post Commander—Certificate of Appreciation: <br /> i <br /> Charlie Hicks, Commander of the Mashpee VFW Post will be recognized <br /> on Memorial Day in a special ceremony to be held at the Mashpee High <br /> School at 11:00 a.m. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Green to issue a certificate of appreciation <br /> to Charlie Hicks,Commander of the Mashpee VFW Post in special <br /> recognition for his dedicated services. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
