5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 22, 2000 <br /> Town Meeting Warrant Review: <br /> The'items previously placed on hold were reviewed. <br /> Article#12: Mashpee Ballfield Account $275,000 <br /> Explanation clarified All funds shall be expended under <br /> the direction of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Article#17: Legal Facilitator Account $50,000 <br /> .Explanation clarified. To provide for the services of a <br /> professional facilitator and for legal expenses associated <br /> with conducting negotiations regarding federal recognition <br /> with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council. <br /> HOLD Item. <br /> Article 419: Recreation/Human Services/Community Facilities <br /> Consultant Account $60,000 <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the Senior Center. <br /> The Board agreed to include the Senior Center in the needs <br /> analysis planning study. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Green to include the Senior Center in the <br /> facilities needs analysis planning study as proposed in Article#19 for <br /> the sum of$60,000. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Article#20: Stabilization Account <br /> The specific amount will not be determined until the <br /> certification of free cash. <br /> Article#21: Mizzenmast Project $75,000 <br /> Information was received from Town Counsel relative <br /> to this regard. Discussion followed with regards to the <br /> area deemed an Indian burial ground. In order for the <br /> project to move forward, it is necessary for the State <br /> Archeologist, the property owner and MA Commission of <br /> Indian Affairs to agree on procedures. The Selectman <br /> agreed to consult the property owner with respect to this <br /> regard. HOLD item. <br />
