' 2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 28, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Comment: <br /> None at this time. <br /> Mashpee Commons: <br /> Mashpee Commons Limited Partnership developers Arnold Chase and <br /> Douglas Storrs were present to update the Board on the future <br /> developmental phases of Mashpee Commons. <br /> Mr. Storrs indicated that the Cape Cod Commission voted to pursue a <br /> developmental agreement, which would enable the Commission,the Town <br /> and representatives from Mashpee Commons to detail the final phases of <br /> development. Mr. Storrs recommended that a Board of Selectmen identify <br /> a member to attend weekly non-binding negotiations. <br /> The Cape Cod Commission and the MA Highway Department have <br /> endorsed the signalization in the area of Job's Fishing Road and Route <br /> 151. Mr. Storrs suggested that the Director of Public Works, the Town <br /> Planner and Board of Selectmen properly review the alignment. He also <br /> recommended that the Board consider establishing an easement agreement <br /> for the North Market Street and the Super Stop and Shop area to reduce <br /> the amount of curb cuts on Route 151. <br /> The Board agreed that signalization in the area of Job's Fishing <br /> Road/Donna's Lane on Route 28 was also deemed a priority. It was <br /> agreed that both referenced signals would be in place in approximately <br /> one year. Additional signalization plans include Steeple Street/Route <br /> 28/East Steeple Street and Market Street/Job's Fishing Road intersection. <br /> Mitigation measures include wastewater-planning issues. There have been <br /> ongoing discussions with the Sewer Commission,the CCC and the <br /> Department of Environmental Protection_ The two schools,Police and <br /> Fire, Boys and Girls Club, Library, and Christ the King Church are <br /> proposed for connection. Additional planning includes the expansion of <br /> the Library. The relocation of the Children's Museum is also proposed in <br /> this area as an added resource to support the existing schools. <br />
