MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 22 , 1993
MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:OOPM
Members Present: Dan Goggin, Chairman; Deirdre Greelish and Roger
Dunivan. Tony Gallo, Denise Sullivan and John Ferriday were unable
to attend.
Please note that the taping of this meeting was for the
transcription of the minutes only. The tapes will be reused once
the minutes are approved.
The Finance Committee members discussed the request made by Jim
Vaccaro at the last meeting. It was decided that Dan Goggin would
find out exactly what was needed by the Selectmen before the
Finance Committee voted on a sum to be transferred from the Reserve
Fund. Mr. Goggin also mentioned that Mr. Vaccaro had not given the
committee a request form.
Mr. Goggin stated that the revenues still seemed fine, as well as
the expenses. A copy of a Revenue Statement dated May 31, 1993 was
issued at the meeting. Ms. Greelish mentioned that Anne Shaw could
not give her .any information at all regarding receivables..
Mr. Goggin mentioned that the Annual October meeting will be held
on October 4 , 1993 . All Articles are due to the Selectmen by
August 9, 1993 at 4 : 30PM.
The Finance Committee discussed what they would be recommending to
the Board of Selectmen prior to August 9th. The committee
recommends that the Falmouth tuition be placed into the
Stabilization Account. The excess Betterments be placed into the
Stabilization Account also and that a Capital Replacement Account
be instituted. Mr. Goggin stated that he would discuss Ms. Shaw's
objections to placing the excess money into Stabilization. Mr.
Dunivan also felt that it was still a good idea to put 1% of the
levy aside. He felt that we recommend that it be done now, three
months prior.
The Committee decided that the next meeting will be held on
Tuesday, July 27, 1993 at 7:OOPM. Mr. Goggin requested that the
Committee's secretary send a memo to the members that were not
present asking for their input to the three recommendations made
above.
Ms. Greelish stated that she would speak to Mr. Whritenour
regarding tracking of the maintenance of the town vehicles. She
suggested that it might be helpful if each department head send
some information regarding their vehicles.
