3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 27, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing_-Tax Classifications: <br /> Selectman Cahalane and Selectman Marsters stepped down for the above <br /> referenced hearing. <br /> Selectman Leveille opened the Public Hearing to hear comments on the <br /> allocation of the tax levy by classification of property. The purpose.of <br /> said hearing is to solicit public comment on whether each classification of <br /> property should have a different rate or whether the rate should be the <br /> same for all classifications. The Assistant Town Administrator read aloud <br /> the Public Hearing notice as published. <br /> The Water District Commissioners were present in joint convention for the <br /> Town of Mashpee/Mashpee Water District Classification Hearing. David <br /> Bailey, the Director of Assessing was in attendance and discussed the split <br /> tax rate,the small business exemption, open space discount and residential <br /> exemption. <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to; <br /> Adopt a Residential Exemption of(1) <br /> Do Not Allow an Open Space Discount <br /> Do Not Allow a"Small Business Exemption" <br /> Do Not Allow a "Residential Exemption: <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: David,yes Wayne, yes <br /> Chuck,yes John, absent <br /> Ken, absent <br /> Water District: Russell,yes Diane,yes <br /> Opposed, none <br />
