10 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 4, 2000 <br /> Executive Session Articles: <br /> The Selectmen agreed to review the following Executive Session articles <br /> in Open Session. <br /> Holiday Schedule: <br /> Under the Administrators Union contract, the following is deemed a legal <br /> holiday; '/z last day worked before Christmas, excluding Thursdays. <br /> Under the provisions of the SEIU Clerical Union contract, Christmas Eve <br /> is considered a paid holiday only if it falls on a regular workday and shall <br /> not be moved to the previous day when a Saturday Christmas is <br /> recognized on Friday. This year, the date of Christmas is Monday. <br /> There was no action to alter the holiday schedule. <br /> DPW New Hire Benefits: . <br /> Correspondence was received from the DPW Director dated November <br /> 28, 2000 recommending the Board consider providing holiday pay for Jeff <br /> Furtado,the new DPW employee, during the first 90 days of employment. <br /> There was no action. <br /> Appointment of Deputy Chief of Police: <br /> At their last meeting,the Board of Selectmen authorized two members to <br /> attend the interview process with the Chief of Police and Personnel <br /> Administrator for the position of Deputy Chief of Police. To clarify this <br /> matter, the Selectmen indicated that the two members of the Board are to <br /> attend the interview process as observers in a fair and unbiased personnel <br /> process. They would not partake in the actual interview. The Chief of <br /> Police and Personnel Administrator will make a recommendation to the <br /> Selectmen for appointment. <br />
